I was going to post something about going back to work at CYF, and being really excited about it. Instead, something better happened.

Meet my new niece, Ava Grace, born on April 25th at 9:43 pm.

Ava, you get the same deal your cousin got a few years ago. If you ever need to know Russian swear words, how to play the Ramones on an acoustic guitar, or the dirt on your mother when she was your age, you have it.

While you were in your bassinet a few hours after you came into this world, you smiled at me. I've taken all the classes and I know that when babies smile, it is more of a biological response than anything else. But Ava, you smiled at me. So, if you're not in need of Russian swears, 3 chord punk songs, or stories about your wonderful mother, then just know that I'll do whatever I can for the rest of your life to make sure you keep smiling.
